'A second mammy' - popular Kilkenny woman retires after almost three decades

A well known childcare facility in Kilkenny has bid farewell to a 'legendary' colleague after 27 years of service with Eden Childcare.

"Teresa is Retiring the end of this October 2025, after 27 years working with Eden Childcare formerly Busy Bees," they posted to social media.

"To say we will miss Teresa is a huge understatement. Her kindness, to the children and Staff is legendary.

"We wish Teresa the absolute best of everything as she embarks on a new Chapter in her life, XX," the post concluded.

In response, there was no shortages of well wishes on social media.

"Awh Teresa best of luck! Enjoy your next Chapter! You were so kind to Charlie during his time there!," one person wrote.

Another added, "You will be deeply missed, but we're excited for this new chapter in your life! You are an amazing person xx."

Meanwhile, another social media user commented, "Ah congratulations Teresa !!! You were a second mammy to my three kids when they were with you at Busy Bees, I’ll be forever grateful for the fabulous care they received. Enjoy the next chapter!"
