An Garda Síochana were out and about on Tuesday evening, patrolling the streets of Kilkenny City.
But, as the nights draw in, the streets were virtually empty.
"Easy knowing it's a school night!," local gardaí posted to social media.
"Ye must be hiding, hardly anyone out. Possibly we're all feeling the reality of the beginning of Autumn with the shorter evenings and a warm fire.
"If you are out, mind how you go so keep an eye on that speed and never drive while intoxicated. Oiche Mhaith," they added.
