"We have a road down to our house that we can’t drive because the road is closing," Cllr Hilda Cavanagh claimed.
"There are no consequences (for those who fail to comply) and there should be consequences. You should be told if you don’t cut your ditch and you have no reason not to cut your ditch, you will be prosecuted," she continued.
Cllr Pat Fitzpatrick hit out a telecommunications company for not playing their part, allowing hedges to over-grow over their telephone lines causing potential danger to the public.
"There’s wires on ditches and are clogging up everywhere. When the next storm arrives and comes I don’t know how we’ll be fixed."
