Popular Kilkenny City bar closed 'until further notice' ahead of Bank-Holiday

A Kilkenny pub has announced it is closed 'until further notice' due to renovation works.

Popular local bar Lanigans, located in the heart of the city on Rose Inn Street, shared the news with their followers on social media.

"We are closed for renovations until further notice sorry for any inconvenience caused," a brief post read.

It is not yet clear whether the popular local meet and greet spot will be open in time for the Bank-Holiday festivities on Saturday and Sunday.

It's set to be a busy weekend in the Marble City with the Savour Kilkenny Festival taking place from Friday, October 24 at midday to midnight on Sunday, October 26.

The annual festival will play host to over 100 market stalls, cookery demos, workshops, talks, films, dining events and much more.
