Remember your loved ones at Christmas in Kilkenny with this lovely local tradition

Rotary Kilkenny Christmas remembrance tree

The Rotary Club of Kilkenny's annual Christmas Remembrance Tree fundraiser will take place across the city in the coming days.

This project has been a feature in the city for many years in the run-up to Christmas and has always been generously supported by the people of Kilkenny city and county.

Starting tomorrow (Thursday, December 18) and again on Friday (December 19) look out for Rotary club volunteers in several city locations - at SuperValu in Newpark Shopping Centre and at SuperValu in Loughboy. Volunteers will also be on the parade on Saturday, December 20.

A collection is also taking place at UPMC Aut Even, at the beautiful Christmas tree in the lobby. If you don't meet any of the volunteers you can also donate online at: https://www.idonate.ie/crowdfunder/kilkennyrotaryremembrancetree

All proceeds from the fundraiser will be shared between Carlow Kilkenny Homecare, Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre and Rotary Foundation charities.

Everyone is also invited to a special ecumenical service to remember all those we have lost, on Christmas Eve morning, on The Parade. With the Kilkenny Gospel Choir, Bishops Niall Coll and Bishop Adrian Wilkinson, we'll take a few minutes to reflect on those who were dear to us but no longer with us. The event starts at 11am.
