Gardaí to take legal action against law flouter as car seized in Kilkenny carpark

A local driver is facing serious garda action after their car was seized in the carpark of Smithland South on the outskirts of Kilkenny City this week.

"How low can you go?," a garda post read.

"This Golf was seized earlier for no NCT and also to be PSV inspected as it is suspected of being dangerously defective.

"The rear wheels are suspected to be fouling the wheel arches and there does not appear to be any suspension travel. The inspection will determine the course of Garda action in this case," the post concluded.

Social media users were quick to condemn the irresponsible driver.

"If it’s found to be dangerously defective it should be off to the crusher no debate," one person wrote.

Another commented: "About time these things were being pulled in."

Meanwhile, An Garda Síochana made an unusual arrest outside their Kilkenny station on Tuesday, with the story bemusing many local social media users.

The driver visited the station to enquire why he was disqualified from driving on the road. They were subsequently informed they had been disqualified since November of last year. - READ MORE HERE
