Have you seen examples of plastic signage across Kilkenny city or county?

Local Labour Party councillor, Sean Ó hArgain has hit out at a controversial vape shop sign in the city centre, describing it as “ludicrous”.

“Our signage policy banned neon signs. More importantly, the marketing of these hugely questionable vapes as being the same as coffee is ludicrous,” Cllr Ó hArgain said.

“I’ll be asking Kilkenny County Council to take action on this and I continue to call on government to ban vapes, particularly the cannabinoid ones available widely now.”

The installation of a new city centre shopfront late last year sparked debate over local authority rules on plastic and corriboard signage.

Previously, the council confirmed they had designated somebody with the responsibility of monitoring shopfronts across the city centre once every two weeks.
