Well-known house and site on outskirts of Kilkenny City now 'sale agreed'

Approximately 40 acres of business-zoned land on the outskirts of Kilkenny City is now 'Sale Agreed'.

The southern section of the site is occupied by Hebron House (c.2250 sq ft) - a derelict detached five-bay two storey residence built in late 1700s.
Hebron House is listed as a protected structure situated amongst a walled-in orchard and long-standing mature trees.
The surrounding site however is open to business development to industries including retail warehousing, lighting, offices, car showrooms, hotel(s), restaurant(s), conference facilities, enterprise centre(s), science and technology-based industry, medical industry and much more.
According to the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage the House 'has historic connections with George Cronyn (1775-1832); Lieutenant-Colonel Thomas Jones (Lewis 1837 II, 114); and the Murphy family including Michael Murphy (d. 1880)'.
Running through the site is the Pococke River, a tributary of the River Nore.
The purchaser of the site is not yet known.
