Kilkenny man charged with assaults causing harm in Newpark Close

Gardaí asked a court to order a young man to stay out of Newpark Close, when he appeared before the court on charges of assault causing harm.

The condition of bail was eased when the court heard the man lives in the area part-time.

Before the court was Craig Quigley, 4 The Haven, Kilkenny. He is charged with two counts of assault causing harm, alleged to have occurred in the Newpark Close area on April 2, 2023.

Sergeant Morgan O’Connor asked that the matter be adjourned on condition Mr Quigley be of sober habits and have no interaction with the injured parties or their families.

Initially he also asked for a condition that Mr Quigley stay out of Newpark Close, but when solicitor Chris Hogan said his client lives in the area part time Judge Geraldine Carthy ordered Mr Quigley can be in the area but must not have any interaction with the injured parties or their families.

The matter was adjourned to June 6 to allow for directions from the DPP.
