It's understood up to 80 new jobs are to be created in Kilkenny by Taxback International as part of the Taxback group, with an announcement expected soon.

The jobs will be in the areas of sales, marketing, and R&D. The company is located in the IDA Business and Technology Park, ring road, Kilkenny City.

A formal announcement is expected when the Tanaiste and Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Frances Fitzgerald visits here next Friday, November 24. The Tánaiste will also be visiting the city's new Medieval Mile Museum as part of her visit to Kilkenny.

Local councillor Pat Fitzpatrick, who is the chairman of Kilkenny's SPC for economic development, has welcomed the announcement.

"It's great to hear a good news story about employment in Kilkenny," he said.

"I look forward to more positive announcements in the future for Kilkenny City and county."
