Kilkenny saw some snow and ice this morning
Northern parts of Kilkenny woke up to snow this morning, with a frost remaining on the ground in all areas well into the day.
The weather is to be very cold and calm tonight with long clear spells. It will be overall dry, with a widespread sharp to severe frost to set in along with icy stretches.
There may be snow in parts, especially on high ground. A Status Orange is in place for much of the country, although not Kilkenny, where a Status Yellow snow-ice warning remains in place.
Nationally, it will be cold on Sunday with rain in southern areas but falls of sleet and snow in midland and northern parts for a time, however clearing southwards with drier condition spreading down from the north. Severe frost after dark with snow lying in places.
Monday will have a very frosty start, turning into a cold and mostly dry day with sunny spells, but scattered wintry showers also in western and northern coastal areas.
