A night porter sustained facial injuries after he was headbutted in an unprovoked assault at a Kilkenny City hotel in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The incident happened at approximately 5am on March 1. Gardaí are also investigating an attempted burglary at the premises and both incidents are believed to be connected.
A suspect has been arrested and is due to appear in court in connection with the incident over the coming weeks.
