Kells people getting ready for the annual Kells Kings Cycle through and around the Kilkenny village
The Kells Kings and the people of Kells are gearing up for another year of raising much needed funds for Cois Nore Cancer Support Centre in Kilkenny city through the annual Kells Kings Cycle.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, September 1 with a cycle route to suit every level.
This year sees the introduction of an early bird offer. You can register online until August 18 for only €20 for the 116km, 85km, 45km. After next Saturday, the price will go to €25 online, and €30 to register on the morning of the cycle.
With increasing numbers taking part, cyclists are encouraged to register early at www.kellskings.ie
The 116km and 85km routes are challenging routes suitable for experienced cyclists that are up for a challenge.
There will be a water stop in Mullinavat and a food stop in Inistioge before the 85km route splits and returns back to Kells via Thomastown. The 116km route will head out of Inistioge towards New Ross, The Rower, Graignamanagh over Cuppnagh returning to Kells through Thomastown, Stoneyford and back up Ennisnag hill. The 45km cycle is an extended local loop around the local villages on quiet country roads with a water stop in the village of Hugginstown.
This year the 7.5km family cycle will be replaced with a 4km cycle around a local loop and is suitable for all the family.
