Kilkenny Recreation and Sports Partnership is conducting research in the Carlow / Kilkenny area.
They will evaluate LGBTQ+ awareness and following this develop a training toolkit for clubs and sporting facilities. The research will address the key recommendations from the Equality in the Field report produced in 2023 by KRSP. The two main objectives are:
1. To improve the understanding and awareness of the theory & the terminology associated with the LGBTQ+ population within sports clubs and sporting facilities in the study area (Kilkenny and Carlow).
2. To equip sports club and facilities with a training toolkit to support them in inclusion of members of the LGBTQ+ population in their club or facility.
The group is currently surveying clubs and sporting facilities and would like them all to complete a brief survey to help form stage two of the project – the development of a training toolkit.Complete the survey here https://www.surveymonkey.com/
