Kilkenny man Daire Gleeson has finished runner-up in the Hugo Loonam Midlands East Rally Championship for 2023/2024.
The championship consisted of nine rounds taking in events in Laois, Birr, Tipperary, Wexford, and Wicklow. The final round took place over the weekend with the two-day Volkswagen Wexford Stages Rally.
After some good results driving his Ford Escort MK2 over the complete championship Daire came out as runner up missing out by just one point — a great result for this young man. He is certainly one to keep an eye on for the future
A prizegiving dinner is due to take place on October 19 in the Abbey Hotel, Roscommon.
