Kilkenny County Council welcomed European gold medalist Emily Moloney to County Hall last Friday for a reception hosted by the Mayor of the city, Cllr John Coonan.
Emily was presented with the Mayoral Certificate in recognition of her outstanding achievements in equestrian sport, representing both Kilkenny and Ireland.
Emily secured an historic Double Gold at the Under 18 European Championships in 2025, including becoming the Individual Gold Medal European Champion.
"We are presenting a Mayor's Certificate of Achievement to a young woman who has well and truly put Kilkenny and Ireland on the global equestrian map: Emily Moloney," Cllr Coonan said.

"Eddie and Miriam, you must be so proud, and you deserve a tremendous amount of credit for guiding and supporting her journey every step of the way.
"Emily's rise to the top of international showjumping has been nothing short of meteoric. Many of us know she has been competing at the highest domestic levels since she was just a child," he continued.
"What makes all of this even more astonishing is that Emily is balancing the intense pressures of elite international sport while attending Loreto Secondary School, preparing to sit her Leaving Certificate this June. Emily, your time management, focus and dedication are an inspiration to young people everywhere."
