Second phase of consultation on Kilkenny Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP)

KILKENNY

Kilkenny Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP)

The second phase of community consultation on the development of the Kilkenny Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP) is now under way.

In collaboration with key stakeholders and the public, SUMP vision, objectives and measures. have now been drafted. Public engagement so far has taken the form of:

Two focus groups with a representative key stakeholder group; public exhibition and consultation in November; a youth workshop with the Green School Committee; a workshop with Kilkenny Public Participation Network (PPN); and close collaboration with all departments within the council.

At this point in the SUMP process, there is to be a thorough review of the draft vision, objectives and measures. The public is invited to offer feedback to ensure that the plan deals with the issues of city transport and travel that are most important to them.

It is likely everyone will be affected by changes suggested in the plan. There will be an opportunity to meet plan leaders in the following locations on Friday, April 21:

  • MacDonagh Junction Shopping Centre: 9am - 11am
  • Market Cross Shopping Centre: 3.30pm - 5pm

Those who cannot attend, can fill out an online community survey at sump.kilkenny.ie or contact hello@connectthedots.ie. This survey will be open until May 5.
