Twenty-three patients were waiting for a bed at St Luke’s General Hospital for Carlow-Kilkenny yesterday (Thursday) morning, according to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO).
This morning, that figure had dropped to five, offering some reprieve.
Last week, the number of patients waiting for a bed at the hospital remained in the twenties from Monday to Friday.
These figures are still down considerably on May’s peak (so far) of thirty-five patients waiting for a bed, recorded on May 4.
