Gerard Kelly, a local man under the care of Blackrock Hospice, has launched a fundraiser to express his gratitude for the quality of care he is receiving there.
“Hospice is not a place to be scared of,” he said.
“It’s not what we think or imagine. Entering the service you can’t help but feel cared for, looked after, listened to and respected.
“One of the items on my bucket list is to help raise money and do fundraising events for this peaceful little place on earth.
“For the staff who bring me peace and comfort it’s a way of giving back and for new patients to have a place like this to go to with services to avail of and use such as a canteen, rehab, counselling, home care team visits and so much more.
“I appeal to you, please help me cross another item off on my bucket list.
“A small difference can help make a huge impact. Thank you.”
