Over 700 high quality interior lots are going up for auction soon at Sheppard's Auction House in Durrow, County Laois.
The auction house was founded by the late Christopher Sheppard in 1948 when he began selling second-hand furniture.
In the following decades, it built a reputation for period Irish furniture that attracted collectors and dealers from throughout Ireland and the UK.
At this upcoming auction, it may be the impressive walnut and herringbone inlaid desk that catches your eye, or maybe the large perched, carved Amercian eagle or perhaps the Parisian tortoise shell-cased wall clock.
Here are some of the items going under the gavel at the auction rooms in Durrow on September 5 and 6:
[Lot 208 - This 19th Century walnut and herringbone inlaid desk has an estimate of €1,800 to €3,000]
