Presently, over 10,900 homes, businesses and farms can order high-speed fibre broadband to connect to the National Broadband Network in County Kilkenny
Areas and townlands in the vicinity of Piltown, Fiddown and Killamery will now be able to pre-order a high-speed fibre broadband connection following the latest phase of progress in the National Broadband Plan.
There are a total of 1,456 Kilkenny premises in the Carrick-on-Suir deployment area that can now join the National Broadband Ireland network.
National Broadband Ireland is calling on people living near Piltown to visit nbi.ie/map and enter their Eircode to see if they are ready to connect.
Works have already been completed in other parts of Kilkenny and there is a total of 10,933 premises that are available to pre-order or order high-speed, reliable broadband across the county with 2,916 connections made so far.
Peter Hendrick, Chief Executive Officer, National Broadband Ireland, said he is ‘delighted to announce that Kilkenny premises in the Carrick-on-Suir area can now order high-speed broadband services through the National Broadband Ireland network’.
“This will enable users to experience the life-changing benefits that high-speed broadband provides,” he added.
“Presently, over 10,900 homes, businesses and farms can order high-speed fibre broadband to connect to the National Broadband Network in County Kilkenny. This includes almost 2,000 premises in the rural surrounds of Borris, almost 1,700 near Johnstown, over 3,600 near Kilkenny and over almost 2,600 in the surrounding areas of Mooncoin and Kilmacow.”
NBI is encouraging people to check their eligibility and register for updates at www.nbi.ie to receive regular notifications related to their own premises as works progresses in their area.
