A decision is due by the end of this week on plans for 53 new housing units in Kilkenny City.

'Madill Ltd Property Limited' have submitted the plans for a site at Rath Ullard, Bonnetsrath, Kilkenny.

Planned are eleven houses, 24 duplex units, one three-storey mixed use retail/apartment building and one four-storey apartment building.

Also planned is a single-storey facilities management building and a communal refuse storage pavilion.

Modification of the existing roundabout at the entrance of the site is also sought to provide a T-junction with a raised table, alongside the provision of internal roads and footpaths.

Other infrastructure sought includes pedestrian crossing facilities, cycle lanes, surface level car parking, public lighting, landscaping, public open space, boundary treatments, provision of foul and surface water disposal and all associated site works.

A final decision is due from Kilkenny County Council by November 5, 2023.
