Kilkenny eatery listed amongst 'Cheapest Michelin Star Restaurants For Dinner'

The Michelin Guide have compiled a list of the most affordable Michelin Star dinners in Great Britain and Ireland and Campagne in Kilkenny is amongst them.

The only Irish eatery on the list, The Michelin Guide states that 'there is something delightfully unpretentious and understated about Campagne'.

According to Michelin, 'the assured classical cooking delivers bold, complementary flavours with real skill, ensuring technical flourishes are never there for the sake of it'.

They continue: "Alongside the appealingly priced early bird/Sunday lunch menu, is a wine list with something to suit every purse. It’s no surprise that they have a loyal following of local diners."

Campagne is located under the old railway arches at Gas House Lane in Kilkenny City.

Head chef Garrett returned to Kilkenny to open Campagne in 2008. The restaurant has gained many accolades on a national and international level since, most notably one Michelin star status in September 2013.

The menu is guided by the seasons and its produce and the inspiration comes from regional France and its cuisine.
