The contract to develop Lot 5A of the South-East Greenway from Ferrybank to Curraghmore was recently awarded to Glas Civil Engineering Ltd.

Works commenced on November 13, with focus being placed on the provision of a permanent carpark at Glenmore.

The anticipated contract duration of Lot 5A is 12 months and ROD Consulting Engineers have been appointed as technical consultants to supervise this contract.

Fáilte Ireland recently engaged The Paul Hogarth Company to conduct an interpretation, wayfinding and orientation plan for the greenway.

A public consultation event was also recently held in the Rhu Glenn and Brandon House Hotel to obtain information on the places, stories and people along the route of the greenway.

It is hoped that this information will be used to inform the future animation on the greenway.

In relation to a potential link from the South-East Greenway to Inistioge, tenders have been sought for a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to advance the proposal.
