Over 30 companies, intending to recruit apprentices in 2024, will be represented at the expo
Leading national and local employers actively recruiting for 2024 will be front and central at the Apprenticeship Expo 2024 hosted by Kilkenny and Carlow Education and Training Board (KCETB).
Taking place at the Lyrath Hotel Convention Centre, from 7-9pm on Monday, January 29, the expo promises to be a fantastic event for anyone making choices on their future career.
“The Apprenticeship EXPO offers parents and students alike the opportunity to understand the vast and exciting career opportunities available," says Eileen Curtis, CEO of KCETB.
“The apprenticeship model has developed in recent years with 74 apprenticeship programmes now on offer, spanning the breadth of all sectors and meeting key management and skill needs across industry. It has become a key recruitment and
training model for leading employers.”
Over 30 companies, intending to recruit apprentices in 2024, will be represented at the expo. People attending the expo will have a chance to talk directly to employers about the range of apprenticeship opportunities and progression routes in their companies.
“We are building our teams and seeking ambitious and dynamic individuals who want to make a difference!" says Susan Queally, Talent Acquisition Specialist in Tirlán.
"Tirlán has been partnering with the ETB Apprenticeship Programme for many years and in doing so, we have developed our next generation of talent. We value individuality and recruit annually for Electrical and Instrumentation and Mechanical Fitting (MAMF) apprentices. So, if you’re a hands-on learner, who enjoys problem solving and working as part of a team, then
come meet us on January 29 at Lyrath.”
The expo will have an information session where people can hear first-hand the experiences of employers, past apprentices and parents who have chosen the apprenticeship programme. Additionally, industry experts will be on hand to speak one to one about the options available in the different sectors.
Speaking on apprenticeship as a career path Virginia Bohan, Senior Training Advisor with KCETB said, apprenticeship is all about earning and learning at the same time.
"There are many routes available to students and career changers now, and people need to be aware of the benefits of taking the apprenticeship route rather than a fulltime college programme. You are job-ready when you have completed an apprenticeship.
Admission is free but booking is essential; search 'Apprenticeship Expo 2024 hosted by KCETB' on Eventbrite.
