Kilkenny woman, Janet Scully (47) is jumping into the unknown next month, as she goes to extraordinary lengths to raise funds for the Solas Cancer Support Centre in Co Waterford.
The cancer service offers support to people in Kilkenny, Waterford and the wider South East area, with services ranging from counselling to relaxation therapies.
The mother of two from Kilmacow in the south of the county, will take part in a 150ft jump from the roof of the Hogan Stand to ground level in Croke Park.
Nervous excitement is bound to be in the air for the local woman but her upcoming endeavour is a quest she's taking on for very selfless reasons, taking the leap of faith to remember her brother, Denis and close friend, Eva who both lost their battles to brain cancer last year.
"It is fantastic to have the support and services of the Solas Cancer Support Centre in the South East," she said.
"I am not going to lie I am petrified of heights so I'm very anxious about doing this but I am hoping these two will be behind me and get me through it," she added.
