Chance to get up close and personal with some moths in Kilkenny

Your chance to get up close and personal with some moths in Kilkenny

The hawk moth is Ireland's largest variety of moth

Come cycle to Dunmore Biodiversity and Countryside Park in Kilkenny this Sunday (May 19) and marvel at the different variety of moths captured overnight.

These nocturnal pollinators are often overlooked but with over 1475 moth species recorded in Ireland, we have a wonderful wealth of species to admire.

For every butterfly species, we have 42 moth species.

Albert Nolan, a moth enthusiast, will explain about these wonderful creatures before he releases the moths back to their local habitat.

This event is completed under licence and no harm will come to the moths.

Meeting at the car/bike park off the Bleach Road at 9.45am and walking up into the park to meet Albert at his moth trap on May 19.
