The North Quays main contract has made significant progress in the last two months, councillors in South Kilkenny were informed at the latest meeting of Piltown Municipal District.
Substructure works for the sustainable transport bridge over the River Suir is continuing, with all four cofferdams operational and work is progressing internally with the formation of the bridge piers.

The fabrication of the steel deck superstructure for the bridge is now close to completion in Belgium, and the sections are currently being painted.
The transport hub building works are continuing with the support walls and columns complete.
The construction of the southern platform blockwork at platform level has commenced and the construction of the northern platform boundary wall is ongoing.
Road and access infrastructure is also progressing well, with works continuing on the various bridge structures.
Traffic management measures continue to be in place, with various works continuing.
Uisce Eireann is now operating the pump station in Ferrybank.
Also, flood relief scheme site investigations and detailed design are progressing well.
