Kilkenny County Council have expressed their wish to extend a sincere thanks to the Sisters of St John of God and their team
for allowing the convent to be used over the past two years.

"It has enabled Ukrainians to arrive into Kilkenny, with support staff from Kilkenny County Council managing the property and supporting their needs," the local authority stated.

"Furthermore, we wish to extend our thanks to our support staff who provided invaluable support to the Ukrainian community during their time in the convent.

"All remaining residents have been facilitated with accommodation in alternative commercial accommodation in Kilkenny thus allowing residents to remain in jobs and children to remain in school."
