Kilkenny Gardaí are warning local people to be vigilant of an email purporting to be from PayPal.
"One of our lads got this yesterday, he didn't spot it until this morning as he's not fond of emails. Anyway the gist is an almost convincing email purporting to be from PayPal stating that they suspect fraud on your purchase of Bitcoin," a spokesperson from An Garda Síochana in Kilkenny commented.

"The instruction is to phone the helpline number within 12 hours to cancel the transaction. This is of course when the fraud would occur. A dirty one. WATCH OUT!!," the Garda spokesperson added.
