Awards galore for Kilkenny pubs!

Kilkenny pubs toasted success at the recent Irish Pub Awards as; Pat Carroll’s, Kyteler’s Inn, Christy’s Bar and Malzard's all scooped notable titles in the South-East region categories.

The National Irish Pub Awards are open to all members of the Vintners Federation of Ireland (VFI) and Licensed Vintners Association (LVA) and reward pubs in a number of areas including; best customer service, outdoor space and food.

Pat Carroll’s was named Best Local Pub.

The category rewards  local pubs that offer their local customers an engaging customer experience in a unique way. This can be through its beverage or food offering, customer service, its facilities, entertainment, or engagement with the local community and can be a traditional or contemporary and located in a rural or suburban setting.

"We are delighted to win this award," commented owner Pat Carroll.

Kyteler’s Inn was crowned Best Tourist Pub.

The category recognises pubs that have a focused and demonstrated plan to create an Irish pub experience to attract a tourist market and deliver an exceptional experience to local and international visitors.

"We are thrilled and over the moon," a spokesperson remarked.

"Especially with our 700 year anniversary coming up in November.

"It makes it truly special. Thank you to the VFI and Fáilte Ireland," added the spokesperson.

Malzards of Stoneyford picked up the ‘Most Innovative Pub’ title.

This category rewards pubs who can demonstrate how innovation has significantly improved their business, either through increased revenue, an increase in customer numbers and/or cost savings.

"Wouldn't happen without our loyal customers and guests. Huge thanks to everyone and a special mention to Garry Canavan who keeps the show on the road," a spokesperson for the Kilkenny pub said. 

Christy’s Bar won Best Match Day Pub.

This category rewards pubs that excels in creating an unrivaled atmosphere for customers to enjoy all sports events.

"Delighted to be recognised as a pub , that provides great match day experiences. Thanks to all who support us and the greater Kilkenny area," a spokesperson for Christy's Bar said.

The Licensed Vintners Association and the Vintners' Federation of Ireland congratulated all of this year’s Regional Winners.

The Kilkenny winners now join with their colleagues in the running for further glory in the All-Ireland Finals.
