Major construction works in Kilkenny completed

Walking and cycling to school for students in Graignamanagh has been made a little bit easier following the completion of works under the ‘Safe to School scheme.

The project, across the country, uses recognisable design features to highlight the presence of the school and encourage traffic to slow down, as well as encouraging increased active travel.

Updating council members at the most recent sitting of the Callan-Thomastown Municipal District, area engineer, Declan Murphy told members that works on a new pedestrian crossing and the erection of ramps on approach to the secondary school in the town have been completed, while footpath upgrade works have commenced on approach to the girl’s school.
