Famous Irish musician Liam Ó Maonlaí, perhaps best known as a member of Hothouse Flowers, made a surprise visit to Kilkenny yesterday evening.
The well-known artist turned up to stand in solidarity with those from Kilkenny Community Palestine Solidarity Group at their weekly vigil at the Town Hall in the Kilkenny City.
Cllr Seán Ó hÁrgáin thanked Ó Maonlaí for accepting the invitation.
"Thanks a million to the wonderful Liam for immediately accepting my invitation to join our weekly vigil on Gaza this evening and for his poignant rendition of Eileanóir a Rún which fitted all our thoughts," Ó hArgáin said.
