It was recently relayed to elected members of Piltown Municipal District in County Kilkenny that a new static speed camera in the district is 'likely' to be live by the end of the month.
This update was provided by local Area Engineer, John Tennyson, who confirmed to elected members that site clearance works for the camera have been 'completed'.
"The ESB should be on-site this week to erect poles," he added. "An outage is planned for April 9 to bring power into the junction box."

Cllr Pat Dunphy sought information in relation to the specific location of the static speed camera.
Tennyson confirmed that it will be located just past the Ballinclare Junction on the N25 heading towards Murphy Motors.
"It's likely to be live by the end of this month," he added.
This update was welcomed by Cllr Dunphy, who referenced 'a good few accidents' in the area in the past.
