Gardaí in Kilkenny have issued a warning to motorists about unrestrained passengers, following a recent incident during a school run in the county.
"Last Tuesday, the Roads Policing Unit stopped a vehicle in the Callan area doing a school run," a garda spokesperson said.
"Our member was alerted to the vehicle when they observed a child standing up between the two front seats.

"On inspection, another child sitting in the front seat was also not restrained. The kids were 4 and 5 years old."
Heavy penalties were issued to the driver and they were not allowed continue the journey until suitable child seats were in place.
