Radio station serving Kilkenny and Carlow secures new broadcasting license

Local radio station, KCLR 96FM has signed a new ten year broadcasting license with Coimisiún na Meán to serve the people of Carlow-Kilkenny.

KCLR 96FM described the announcement as a 'proud and exciting milestone', adding, "the team says it’s more committed than ever to delivering engaging, informative, and feel-good radio that reflects the spirit of Kilkenny and Carlow."

The local radio station first took to the airwaves in May 2004, replacing Radio Kilkenny and CKR (Carlow-Kildare Radio) after the Broadcasting Commission redrew the franchise areas for local radio stations.
