Gardaí operating in South Kilkenny were taken aback at the speed a motorist was recorded doing on the N25 during their recent Bank Holiday Road Safety Operation.
"We were carrying out speed checks on the N25 in Ballynamona, County Kilkenny yesterday (Monday) when we detected this car travelling 181km/h in a 100km/h area," a garda spokesperson said.

"They were stopped and the driver was arrested.
"A court appearance to follow."
