Evan Fitzgerald died following an incident at Fairgreen Shopping Centre, Carlow
Gardaí in Carlow continue to investigate all circumstances surrounding the discharge of a firearm and the death of a man in his 20s following an incident at Fairgreen Shopping Centre, Carlow, on Sunday, June 1, 2025.
A postmortem examination has been completed, the results of which are not being released for operational reasons.
Gardaí are continuing to appeal for witnesses to this incident.

Anyone present at Fairgreen Shopping Centre between approximately 6pm and 6.30pm on Sunday is asked to contact the incident room at Carlow Garda Station.

An Garda Síochána is also very aware that there is a family grieving the death of their loved one at this time and An Garda Síochána appeals for privacy for the family.
