Tributes have flooded in for Sergeant John Duffy who called time on an illustrious career with An Garda Síochana, retiring after 30 years of service on Friday. (PICTURES BELOW)
"John, wishing you all the best in your retirement!! I remember starting in Templemore, you ran the actual legs off our class, because you were training for an Ironman/Triathlon!! Your passion for fitness and sports is a testament to you," one person wrote.
"True gentleman in and out of uniform, you've earned every moment of your retirement," another well wisher commented, while one person remarked: "I remember when we were kids on the street….best wishes in your retirement John."
"His dedication and hard work have been truly appreciated, and we wish him all the best in this new chapter," a garda spokesperson said.
