Gardaí in Kilkenny issue warning over brazen 'cat' thieves

As catalytic converter ('cat') thieves continue to target vehicles, most recently Hybrid Toyotas, gardaí in Kilkenny have been discussing crime prevention measures that owners may take.

These include having an approved device fitted by a qualified person to hinder the criminal. 

If you see any suspicious activity around vehicles, especially Hybrid Toyotas which have some of the most valuable items, please contact gardaí immediately as you would for any suspected crime in progress.

Any vehicle can have these devices stolen as all contain precious metals with a high scrap value.
