Risk of injury prompts recall of electrical product sold at TK Maxx and Homesense

Two popular retailers are recalling a women's hair styling product sold at stores in Ireland.

According to the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC), TK Maxx and Homesense are recalling the Cortex Beauty Hair Curler due to a risk of electric shock.

The risk is reportedly due to poor internal build quality and inadequate insulation.

The model number of the affected product is AT08, and the product code shown on the price sticker and the product receipt will be either 066297, 066314, 066358 or 066331.

There are approximately 72 affected products in the Republic of Ireland, which were sold in stores between September and November 2023.

What should I do?

Customers should stop using the product immediately and return it to any TK Maxx or Homesense store for a full refund.

If customers have any further queries in relation to this recall, please email TK Maxx at customerservice@tjxeurope.com or call on 01 2476126.
