Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision in Bearna, Co. na Gaillimhe (Barna, Co. Galway) last night, Sunday, March 9, 2025.
Gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a collision involving three cars on the R336 at approximately 11:25pm.
The driver of one of the cars, a male in his 20s, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body was removed from the scene to the mortuary at University Hospital Galway, where a post-mortem examination is due to take place.

There were no other injuries reported and the road between Bearna (Barna) and Na Forbacha (Furbo) remains closed this morning, March 10, to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
Local diversions are in place and motorists are encouraged to take the N59 route.
Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
