Teenager remains in 'critical condition' in hospital following M7 collision

A TEENAGER remains in a "critical condition" in University Hospital Limerick this Thursday following a serious injury traffic collision on the M7 motorway earlier this week.

Shortly after 9pm on Monday night, gardaí and emergency services were alerted to a single car collision on the westbound lanes of the M7  between Junction 26 and Junction 27, Nenagh and Birdhill.

A garda spokesperson said the driver and sole occupant of the car, a man in his late teens, was taken from the scene by ambulance to University Hospital Limerick. His condition is still said to be "critical" this Thursday.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators examined the scene with the stretch of road being closed until Tuesday.

Gardaí continue to appeal for any witnesses to this collision to come forward.

"Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the vicinity at the time of the collision are asked to make it available to investigating gardaí.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Nenagh garda station on (067) 50450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station," said a garda spokesperson.
