A great day out as St Fiacre's Place in Kilkenny marks 70 years

Special Mass of Thanksgiving took place in Kilkenny City neighbourhood

KILKENNY

Residents and former residents turned out for the occasion on the green at St Fiacre's Place

Residents and former residents of St Fiacre’s Place celebrated the 70th anniversary of the opening of the houses with a special Mass of Thanksgiving on the green on Sunday. There was a great attendance.

“It’s important to remember all our neighbours living and dead who through the years formed our community and to welcome those who have come into the area,” said Fr Willie Purcell, a native of St Fiacre’s Place, who celebrated the Mass assisted by Fr Roderick Whearty.

"We look back with gratitude, we live in the present with the support of family, neighbours and friends and we look to the future with hope."
