Kilkenny Gardaí make serious arrest on local road

On Wednesday evening, the Kilkenny Roads Policing Unit (RPU) of Kilkenny Gardaí stopped a motorist at an MIT checkpoint during rush hour traffic in Castlecomer. The driver failed the oral fluid test for cocaine and cannabis and has been arrested with the investigation ongoing.

"We all need to be at our best when behind the wheel. When under the influence of any intoxicant, it may be akin to trying to drive with our senses dulled or blurred or altered, a bit like a fog, except this one is between your ears!," a post to the An Garda Síochana Kilkenny Facebook page stated.

"Never ever drive with drugs in your system. It could have fatal consequences," the post added.
