Nighttime restrictions on water in parts of North Kilkenny are to remain in place until September 2 in order to maintain a daytime supply, Uisce Eireann says.
Due to ongoing raw water shortage, current nighttime restrictions from 9pm to 9am will continue until 2 September and homes and businesses are being asked to continue to be mindful of their water usage to allow supply to catch up with demand. Originally, the restrictions wer due to end tomorrow (Thursday).
Communities in the following areas may experience outages, discolouration or reduced pressure: Clogh, Ardra, Massford, Moneenroe, Coolbawn, Gorteen and Castlecomer. Customers should allow 3-4 hours after the estimated restoration time for supply to fully return.
“We understand the inconvenience nighttime restrictions can cause and want to thank the community for their patience. Water levels have not yet recovered sufficiently to maintain a daytime supply but we will continue to monitor the situation," said Uisce Éireann’s Jim Fitzgerald.
