Kilkenny drivers warned of multiple road closures as planned roadworks take place

The Moanmore and Knockbutton areas will be affected by these road closures tomorrow, which are expected to be lifted by Friday.

Kilkenny County Council has warned drivers that two local roads in the Callan-Thomastown region will be closed tomorrow, as planned work is set to occur.

The L1029 in Moanmore will be closed to vehicular traffic from its junction with R697 to its junction with L1028 at Ballytobin tomorrow from 7amto 7pm approximately to facilitate roadworks.

The L1031 in Knockbutton will also be closed from 7am until 7pm, from its junction with L1028 at Mantingstown to its junction with L1032 at Butlerswood.

Local diversions will be in operation and signposted throughout the day.

In so far as it is practical while the roadworks are in progress, local access will be facilitated, but is likely to be subject to delays.

Drivers are advised that this work is weather dependent.

Kilkenny County Council said in a statement that they appreciate the co-operation of Kilkenny motorists, and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
