Pictures: Kilkenny art exhibition is ‘unexpected and exciting’

Open now at An Cheád Tine Art Gallery, Mezzanine floor, Dunnes Stores,

A vibrant, colourful exhibition of paintings by artist Louise Cherry is now open in Kilkenny.
‘All That’s Left Of You In Me’ is ‘a brave, challenging and intriguing collection of vibrant, imaginary narratives.’

“I began by researching my late fathers life drawings, his abstract paintings and his books from Rubens and Rodin but my process took me on a visual adventure and these fantasy images are the result. It is not the project I expected... and that really excites me,” Louise said of her exhibition works.

The exhibition was officially opened last weekend by international artist, AOSDANA member, and RHA member Aideen Barry, who delivered an inspiring speech about Louise Cherry’s art and the importance of bringing such a concept into dialogue within a public gallery space.

Louise Cherry is a multi-disciplinary artist with an extensive art practice that includes painting, photography, film, sculpture, performance and writing. Cherry has exhibited nationally and internationally through both conceptual photography and her abstract paintings and her art is held in both private and public collections home and abroad.
You can see Louise’s work at An Cheád Tine Art Gallery, Mezzanine floor, Dunnes Stores, Kieran Street, until March 2.
