Was your part of Kilkenny badly impacted by Storm Chandra?

A Status Yellow wind and rain warning issued by Met Eireann for Kilkenny very much lived up to the billing this week as Storm Chandra hit Noreside along with other parts of the country.

Very strong and gusty winds along with heavy rain made driving conditions challenging with Kilkenny County Council advising against any unnecessary travel.

A number of isolated incidents were reported around the county but the towns of Callan of Graignamanagh were hardest hit by the conditions at the time of writing.

LATEST: Renewed flooding fears for Kilkenny as new weather warning issued

In Graignamanagh, the River Barrow burst its banks causing difficulty for pedestrians, road users and local business.

Emergency crews were deployed to Main Street yesterday on Monday and by the riverside on Tuesday to clear the area with the crew working to assist parts of the town hardest hit by the flooding.

Meanwhile in Callan, Bridge Street and the KCAT car park closed until further notice after the King's River burst its banks on Tuesday morning.
