Thomastown Scouts and Steiner School teacher team up for fun skipping rope recycling workshop

The workshop reflects the types of engaging, hands-on activities promoted at the school, where creativity, ingenuity and environmental awareness are an important part of learning.

This is a return visit to Thomastown Scouts for MaryBeth, who crafted with the group last autumn, making lanterns at the Thomastown Bio-Diversity Garden.

The Kilkenny Steiner School, based in Ballytobin near Callan, offers a unique educational experience to children between the ages of four and 12.

Steiner-Waldorf schools have been in existence for over 100 years, and there are over 1,400 such schools globally. Alongside classroom learning, children spend time outdoors: exploring the forest and enjoying unstructured, imaginative play that supports healthy social and emotional development.
